Senior Sergeant Mark Todd doesn’t consider himself a hero, but spend five minutes with him and you’ll know that’s exactly what he is.

He and fellow Sergeant Kimberly Munley were the first officers to arrive at the shooting scene in Fort Hood last week where 13 people lost their lives. Sr. Sgt. Todd told us when he first got the call, he thought it might have been people mistaking soldiers practicing a 21 gun salute for real gunfire. But as he got closer, the police dispatcher said she too had heard gunfire.

When Todd and Munley arrived, people pointed in the direction of the shooter. Then they saw him. He started firing at them and they split up. The next time Todd saw him, Todd says he drew the gunman’s attention away from the crowd and the gunman started firing at Todd again. Todd makes a point to say that both he and Officer Munley are responsible for stopping the suspect, but with Munley wounded, it was Sr. Sgt. Todd who cuffed the suspect. Metroplex Hospital in Killeen has sent out the following statement on behalf of Kimberly Munley and her family.

“Kimberly Munley and family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for all of the thoughts and concerns surrounding Kim from around the nation. They are deeply touched by the outpouring of strength, thoughts and prayers that have been sent their way. At this time, the main concern for Kim’s family is her safe and rapid recovery.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the tragedy on Fort Hood. Mrs. Munley is very concerned with the well-being and safety of all involved and is hopeful that all injured will make a speedy recovery.

Army Major in Fort Hood killing used ‘electronic means’ to connect w/ terrorists

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said that he requested the CIA and other intelligence agencies brief the committee on what was known, if anything, about Hasan by the U.S. intelligence community, only to be refused.

Major Nidal Malik Hasan was a victim of Islamophobia, according to members of his family.

One cousin told the Associated Press that Major Hasan had been battling racial harassment because of his “Middle Eastern ethnicity.” The harassment, we are told, came from his fellow officers who failed to understand that “Islam is a religion of peace.”

The cousin added that the harassed Hasan had been opposed to an imminent deployment overseas, describing it as his “worst nightmare,” since he would be called upon to do battle against his Muslim brothers.

Seung-Hui Cho-Felt persecuted and said he would be martyrs for the downtrodden when he attacked Virginia Tech.
Osama bin Laden/September 11 Terrorists-Felt that America and the West were persecuting Muslims before they crashed airplanes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and field near Shanksville.
Adolf Hitler-Felt the Jews screwed Germany over and felt they had to be killed off in the Holocaust.

See a pattern here. Also, all of them are radical leftists, well not sure about Lori Drew though. Blaming the victim as usual. Excuses, excuses. We were all bullied at some point. KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee man convicted of kidnapping, rape and murder charges in the fatal carjacking of a couple on a date has been sentenced to death.

The defendant, 28-year-old Lemaricus Davidson, showed no reaction Friday as jurors announced the death sentences for the murders of 21-year-old college student Channon Christian and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Christopher Newsom.

Davidson was found guilty of abducting the couple in Knoxville during a 2007 carjacking by several armed men.

GALVESTON — Royce Clyde Zeigler II says he was in his bedroom listening to his 2-year-old stepdaughter’s screams and took no part in her slaying, according to two videotaped statements shown to the jury Wednesday during his capital murder trial in the death of the girl who became known as Baby Grace.

“I did not harm Riley to kill her,” Zeigler said during a Nov. 3, 2007, interview he requested with investigators after his arrest in the death of Riley Ann Sawyers, whose then-unidentified body had been discovered a month earlier in a blue plastic box that had washed ashore on an island in West Galveston Bay.

The nine men and three women jurors, on the first day of a trial before District Judge David Garner, also saw a second videotaped interview that Zeigler requested the following day.

This is a very heinous crime. Kimberly Trenor and Royce Ziegler should be infected with the Ebola Zaire virus and every deadly and nasty disease. DENVER — The mother of Columbine killer Dylan Klebold says she has been studying suicide in the decade since the high school massacre but had no idea her son was suicidal until she read his journals after his death.

Susan Klebold’s essay in next month’s issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, is the most detailed response yet from any of the parents of Columbine killers Dylan Klebold or Eric Harris. The teenagers killed 12 students and a teacher in the 1999 shooting rampage at Columbine High School in suburban Denver. Twenty-one people were injured before Klebold and Harris killed themselves.

The parents have repeatedly declined to talk about the massacre. They gave depositions in a lawsuit filed by families of the victims, but a judge in 2007 sealed them for 20 years after the lawsuit was settled out of court.

This is the hard lesson some students at Fenger High School have to deal with after a day of learning. For them it’s a hard lesson of reality on the streets.

Thursday after school, two rival gangs got into a fight three blocks from the high school.

In all four students were beaten in that melee — one was released from the hospital Friday morning.

While police continue their investigation, some students say they don’t want to go back to Fenger next week.

Chicago (CBS) – Amid beefed up security, students at Fenger High School went back to class Monday, but without one of their peers. Derrion Albert wasn’t there after he was violently murdered in a melee Thursday that was caught on tape.

Four Chicago teenagers charged with murder Monday afternoon for the vicious beating death of the 16-year-old Fenger High School honors student. Police said they were searching for at least three more suspects.

Silvonus Shannon, 19; Eric Carson, 16; Eugene Riley, 18; and Eugene Bailey, 18, allegedly kicked and punched Derrion, an innocent bystander in a fight between two groups of students near the South Side school Thursday afternoon, according to Cook County prosecutors. Shannon, Carson and Riley were ordered held without bail on Monday. A bond hearing for Bailey was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

VALLEY FALLS — The young man was given three choices: get turned over to the police, go one-on-one in a fight with a seasoned war veteran, or be duct-taped to a flagpole for six hours with a sign around his neck identifying his alleged crime: flag burning.

It was the third option that would still have the small town buzzing a week after a 21-year-old was hunted down and forced to endure a public humiliation with its roots dating to the Middle Ages. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1938 were incensed enough to tie up the man last Sunday after they accused him of setting the flag in front of their building on fire.

Post Commander Nick Normile, a Vietnam War veteran, said the man came into the post’s bar Sept. 18 on Poplar Avenue and was eventually turned away for not having a proper ID.

Good. About time. Burning someone else’s flag is a crime. It is called vandalism. First Amendment does not apply right there. The First Amendment does not give one the right to commit a crime, like vandalism. How stupid is this guy. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Susan Atkins, one of the leading members of Charles Manson’s notorious violent cult who carried out brutal murders at his behest in 1969, has died in a California prison, her husband said on Friday. She was 61.

Atkins, imprisoned since 1971 for her part in eight Manson-related murders, had been suffering from a brain tumor. Earlier this month, state corrections officials rejected her request to be freed so she would not have to die in prison.

“Susan passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and loved ones and the incredible staff at the Skilled Nursing Facility at the Central California Women’s Facility,” her husband, James Whitehouse, said by e-mail.
