Spiritual leaders warn against hate after Fort Hood tragedy

KILLEEN — Hoping to soothe the raw emotions from last week’s rampage at Fort Hood, church leaders urged followers Sunday not to let their anger turn to hatred.

Some pastors even asked their congregations to try to forgive the man accused in the rampage, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who has yet to be charged in a shooting spree that resulted in 13 deaths and 30 injuries.

The Army psychiatrist, who was shot four times by police, remained at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio on Sunday. Officials said Hasan was conscious and “conversant” with hospital staff.

Many aren’t ready to forgive.

“Do I feel anger? I would call it fury,” said Tina Mason, whose husband is based at Fort Hood and serving in Iraq.

“It’s OK to be angry for now,” Schmidt said. “But we must not let that anger plant within our hearts seeds of hatred.”

At the interfaith service at Fort Hood’s 73rd Street Chapel, Chaplain (Col.) Frank Jackson led a prayer for the dead and the wounded — including Hasan and his family.

“Lord, we pray for Major Hasan’s family as they find themselves in a position that no person ever desires to be in,” Jackson said. “We pray for Major Hasan, asking that you would do the work that only you can do in his life.”

He cautioned against speculating or seeking an explanation for “an unfortunate random act of violence.”

To anyone who is a Christian, don’t take offense at what I say. I am not attacking Christianity in any shape and form. Just a personal observation. Some of them are just naive and clueless. Some people are just not worth saving how I see it. Evil does exist and needs to be fought. If Muslims want to avoid backlash, than they should condemn it. Clear and simple. It is not too much to ask for. No. Like I say, silence is acceptance. Anyone who sides and sympathizes with the terrorist are just as bad as the terrorist. Terrorist and terrorist sympathizers should be exterminated.

Supporters of Darwin’s theory continue to distinguish themselves on America’s college campuses—not for their reason and logic, but for their incredible ill manners and an almost pathological inability to engage in civil discussion. Last week, a factually-challenged attack on intelligent design was published in The Nevada Sagebrush, the student newspaper at the University of Nevada, Reno. Nothing new in that; I see ill-informed articles on intelligent design all the time. But after my colleague Rob Crowther posted a short comment suggesting that readers might actually want to hear from intelligent design proponents themselves (imagine that!), the Darwinist thought-police came out in force. One writer who is so courageous that he hides behind the pseudonym “bobxxxx” fulminated:
Robert Crowther… and the rest of the theocratic morons of the Dishonesty Institute are traitors who want to destroy America’s science education. If it was up to me they would be put in prison for treason. They are enemies of America, no better than terrorists, and they should be treated like terrorists.

Traitors? Terrorists? Enemies of America? ID proponents should be “put in prison” for freely expressing their views?!! Perhaps the University of Nevada should consider requiring its students to take a course on the First Amendment. It’s pretty obvious that some of them don’t understand the value of free speech.

Evolutionists are no different from religious fanatics, like the Taliban. Evolution is a religion to those people. Don’t get me wrong, I hear a lot of garbage from Creationist too. However, Evolutionists are more fanatical about it. They do not like being challenged because there are flaws. Evolutionists get riled up when other ideas are heard, like Epigenetics, Convergence, and Creationism. By the way, I believe in all, convergence, evolution, epigenetic, and creationism. A principal and an athletic director in Florida could be charged with crimes and spend six months in jail after they prayed before a meal at a school event, the Washington Times reported.

Pace High School Principal Frank Lay and athletic director Robert Freeman will go on trial in federal district court Sept. 17. They’re accused of violating the conditions of a lawsuit settlement reached last year with the American Civil Liberties Union, according to the Times.

Local pastors and some students and teachers are outraged that Lay and Freeman face criminal charges, and they have protested during graduation ceremonies, the newspaper said.

The depraved, hate besotted fools from the Westboro Baptist Church — the kooks who show up at the funerals of fallen soldiers with their “God Hates Fags!” signs — are planning to picket Saturday afternoon’s funeral of radio legend Paul Harvey, who died last week at 90.

On irony in this is that, to the extent that one can read divine judgment in worldly outcomes, Paul Harvey was apparently God’s pet: He lived a long, very successful and reportedly very happy life.

Another is that Harvey was, in nearly all ways, the voice of midwestern conservatism and an exemplar of heterosexual monogamy.

Members of a controversial Kansas church known for protesting military funerals plan to picket Caylee Marie Anthony’s memorial Tuesday.

Westboro Baptist Church detailed its plans in a recent news statement, which concludes with the phrase “GOD HATES AMERICA.”

The Topeka church claims that U.S. troops killed in combat are God’s punishment for a nation harboring homosexuals.

Westboro Baptist Church is considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Talk about great timing.

Buffalo State College hosts the national teach-in on Global Warming Situations today — a day the local temperature bottomed out at minus 6 degrees.

No evidence of global warming here, at least not this morning, when unofficial reports to the National Weather Service listed temperatures as low as 9 degrees below zero elsewhere in Erie County.

So much for Global Warming. Yes, Earth’s climate does change all the time for many reasons ranging from sunspot cycles, change in currents, and continental drifts. Earth was a very different place when there was Pangaea, which we will not see another one in another hundred million years. Earth’s climate constantly changes no matter what. Humans cannot control the climate, save at the local level.

Global Warming is like a religion to those people and is no different from it. People who believe in Global Warming are spiritually void people with empty lives. The carbon offsets are like Indulgences offered by the Vatican. There is a leader of the Global Warming, which many religions have. Also, when something bad happens, they blame it on something evil, like Satan, which is replaced by Global Warming.

Personally, I think Earth is heading towards a cool down, which is fine with me.

Persians are Indo-Europeans like English, Spanish, and Russian. In fact I have heard Persian spoken and it sounds kinda like Spanish to me. Persian last names remind me of either Indian, Italian, or Dutch last names.

Easter is upon us once again. This time, it is early in the year. Normally, Easter tends to fall in April. Easter marks Jesus’s resurrection from death after being crucified by the Romans and Jews in AD 29. Jesus was 33 years old at the time. Easter is marked after the Spring Equinox and the first Full Moon after it on the first Sunday. Easter marks the end of 40 days of Lent. It just so happens, that Easter falls on March 23. Western Easter falls between March 22 to April 25. Generally it falls in April. However for Eastern Orthodox, Easter falls between early April to May. Sometimes, Western and Eastern Easter falls on the same day, like in 2007. That Easter was rather cold and rainy, which is unusual. Most like to think Easter as warm because it is in Spring. Not in that case last year. Looks like this Easter will be warm. Anyways, Happy Early Easter to everyone!

You may have heard about Barack Obama’s pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. He made some really angry and hate-filled sermons, including one that is racist, sexist, and anti-American. I have been to churches and never heard a pastor preach like this. Here are the vile videos if you can stomach it.

He has the gall to blame America for 9/11 on the Sunday after the horrible terrorist attack. It is not something I would like to hear as a church sermon after a national tragedy. After a horrible day like 9/11, I want to hear something inspirational and comforting, not vile and hateful. This guy is worse than Fred Phelps. As vile and putrid Fred Phelps is, his so-called Westboro Baptist Church only has 71 members, which are all his family. They also like to protest at soldier’s and murder victim’s funerals, which makes them one of the most hated people in America. Rev. Wright’s church, Trinity United Church of Christ, is a megachurch, with 10,000 members, which is scary. I have seen Phelps preach and it actually makes me laugh because he is so pathetic.

Obama was a member of that church for 20 years. Any denounciation by him, is way too late. If he heard those vile sermons, he should of just left. Adding to the irony is that, Obama is also White, on his mother’s side. Also, Obama is an African, who is from Kenya. Black Americans and Africans have different mindsets. I have friends who are Black Americans and Africans and I can tell you that they rarely hang out with each other. Same applies to all races who are Americans and non-Americans. Sure, Obama may look more Black, but if you look at him, he does look Caucasian. Rev. Wright attacks White people, in which is an attack on Obama. I do not understand why Obama does not see that part? If Wright is attacking Whites, why does Obama tolerate it?

On the plus side, the United Church of Christ is being investigated by the IRS for using the pulpit for political purposes. That is a big no-no. Churches are suppose to abide by the rules for being tax-exempt by the IRS. Also, Wright was Obama’s advisor, which is another no-no. Anyways, this will likely hurt Obama. The Democrats are really split, which is ironic because last year, everyone thought the Democrats would have a clear nomination and win the White House in November. Now, it does not look good with all the infighting. It makes good entertainment anyways. Fun to watch with all those television shows affected the recent Writer’s Strike and so-called reality show. I would rather watch this because it is a reality show.
